We help organizations improve and grow by more effectively using technology.
We want to be big on Facebook, and with your help we can get there and help others who are less fortunate at the same time. The benefits of being a fan on our Facebook page are numerous:
We would much rather donate money to charity than pay for advertising. For that reason we have started the first of what may be many membership drives for our page that will benefit a charity. Effective now 3/11/2010 we have 401 fans on our page. For every new fan we get between now and May 13th, we will donate $1 up to a total of $500 to the Danville/Sycamore Valley Rotary Club on behalf of our supporters.

Livermore Valley has won designation as one of first 6 Innovation Hubs by the California Business Transportation and Housing Agency. The iHub program is designed to spur economic recovery and growth by showcasing and supporting California’s most promising hubs of innovation. Over the next few weeks local representatives will be meeting with the state to determine an action plan. This will benefit existing businesses and agencies as well as encourage new investment in the Tri-Valley area which will lead to more quality jobs in the area. All of this is great news for local businesses and residents. The 6 iHubs designated so far are:
Among the many innovative entities in the Tri-Valley are Lawrence Livermore and Sandia National Laboratories. We will be providing more information about this as it becomes available as it has a substantial impact on our clients and fellow Tri Valley residents.

Recently you may have noticed a new repetitive security warning in Internet Explorer 8. The feature is to protect internet users from non secure content while browsing a secure site. Some secure sites link content, images and advertisements that are not delivered securely. This could have ramifications if someone thought they were on a secure site and entered in sensitive data that was not encrypted. The truth is the warnings are so prolific that they almost defeat the purpose they intended. To be safe I recommend choosing the setting to disable the non secure content which is the selection I make in this video.

Over the years many of us have acquired a variety of cell phones and we sometimes wonder what the heck to do with them. The batteries can be hazardous to dispose of and it just seems so wasteful to throw them out!
There is an organization named Call to Protect (www.calltoprotect.org). It is organized by a wireless foundation, Motorola and the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, that collects used phones for battered women’s shelters nationwide. The phones are repaired and programmed to call emergency numbers in the area they are distributed. Your old phones can now mean comfort and safety for a victim of domestic violence. I just boxed up three phones to ship to Call to Protect, and I feel great about it. They are, after all, for a truly worthy cause.
