When I first joined Managed Solutions Inc. as Joe Hackman’s executive assistant, I did not realize just how much I would come to enjoy the job and the company as a whole. The people, the culture, the customers, and the values which form its foundation all make Managed Solutions a happy place to work. I love every aspect of it and here’s why:

Even though we are spread out geographically, the sense of “team” is strong here. As captain of this ship, Joe is even-keeled at the helm, communicative, fair, and open-minded. He listens and actually hears you. He cares that his employees are healthy, happy, and in a good space. Family first is not just a mantra; it is a reality here. Weekly team meetings, daily check-ins, and emphasis on individual growth make me feel valued and included, even from a distance. And whether it is through the flexibility of hours, opportunities for professional growth, or just the small but meaningful recognition of a job well done, I always feel supported by everyone on the team.
3. The Benefits of Work-Life Balance
One of the most appreciated things about working at Managed Solutions is flexibility. Remote work is a huge benefit, especially for someone like me who values the ability to manage my own schedule. I do not miss the daily commute at all! Instead, I can get an early start in the mornings when my focus on tasks is much sharper. It also allows me to get in an early morning walk without having to worry about being late for work, or to step away for an hour to go to a doctor’s appointment. I can fit work around my life, not the other way around. Joe trusts the team to manage their time and tasks accordingly, and I am much more focused and productive as a result. It is refreshing to be part of a company which understands that a happy, healthy employee is a productive one.
4. The Customer Relationships
Our customers are at the heart of everything we do, and they are one of the aspects of my job that I love most. We have AMAZING customers! They really are the best in my opinion and that makes me want to go above and beyond for them. As executive assistant, I am often the first point of contact when a customer needs help or has questions. The relationships we build with our customers are the cornerstone of our business, they are much more than transactional—they are real partnerships. I am proud to know and work with them.
Our team works with a diverse range of manufacturing businesses of all sizes, and it is incredibly fulfilling to be a part of their success. Knowing our efforts to provide them with innovative solutions which help to make their jobs easier, their business more efficient, their bottom line more robust, is a constant source of motivation for everyone on our team. Our customers truly are #1 in our eyes, and they genuinely appreciate what we do. THAT makes the small role I play feel even more meaningful to me.
5. The Amazing Team
Last but certainly not least are the people I work with. This team–Joe, Kevin, Pete–is hands-down the BEST! Everyone is approachable, supportive, and collaborative. Whether we are brainstorming in Zoom meetings or problem-solving via Slack, there is a sense of mutual respect and eagerness to help one another. We rely on each other’s strengths and knowledge to develop innovative, efficient, workable solutions for our customers. Everyone’s contributions are valued, regardless of their role or location. Joe is open to all feedback and new ideas (and our team is always sharing ideas).
We are a team not only genuinely invested in our customer’s success, but each other’s success. We celebrate wins together, troubleshoot challenges, share funny watercooler stuff, and lean on each other when needed. It is a true team effort, and I feel lucky to be surrounded by such super talented and supportive individuals.
