Updating Your Keyfile on the CIMCO License Server (Online Activation)

Today we will explain how to update your CIMCO software license file on the CIMCO license server. This is Article 1 in a 2-part series explaining the online activation process. If the server being updated does not have internet access, please click here to view Article 2, which explains how to use an offline request file.

There are two parts to this process. First is activation of the keyfile and second is application of the activated keyfile.

Section 1: Activating Your New Keyfile

1. Open the keyfile to be activated.
2. Verify the license has not already been activated on the server.
3. Click “Activate license file”.

4. Click “Yes” to activate the license directly from the CIMCO server.

5. Click “OK”. (If this fails, click here to view the Offline Activation article.)

6. Verify the key is activated.

7. Click “OK” to close the license.

Section 2: Applying the Keyfile to the License Server

1. In CIMCO Software Manager, click on “Stop”.

2. Click on “Choose License File” and navigate to the license file activated in the previous section. (It is recommended to store the license file in the root CIMCO folder to make it easy to find if support is needed.)

3. Click on “Start” to begin having the License Server use the new license.

4. Verify the License Server started successfully.

You Are Ready to Proceed

That’s all there is to it. The License Server is now updated and users will have access to all benefits associated with CIMCO software maintenance.
